Senior Manager, Distribution (Wharehouse)

The Distribution Manager leads all activities related to distribution at the Dorval site. In this role, you will manage all aspects of receiving, replenishment, shipping as well as customer returns and product destruction for the Canadian and International markets. You will also be responsible for the Inventory management, control and accuracy.
Manage improvement projects for activities related to the Dorval Distribution centre. In collaboration with members of the other distribution sites, Customer Service and the various Pharmascience departments, you will monitor the results of operational objectives and key success factors, control distribution costs, control inventories for the distribution centre and promote appropriate actions to correct discrepancies.
Additionally, you will ensure that internal and external customer concerns are handled professionally
Responsibilities & Duties
General tasks :
- Identify objectives and ensure that the necessary tools are provided to achieve them
- Responsible for the integrity of the Distribution Center’s inventory and the inventory accuracy of our 3PL partners.
- Develop and maintain an environment that meets quality requirements and ensures that GMP requirements are met.
- Make sure to respect and enforce the SOPs in the sector of activity
- Work with other Pharmascience warehouses to ensure consistency on best practices.
- Analyze operational and budget statistics and implement corrective measures to reach the operational objectives.
- Analyze statistics at inventory levels and communicate inventory results regularly to the different departments. Ensure that corrective actions are taken to maintain proper inventory level and accurate inventory.
- Identify the opportunities for improvement and the risks, develop and implement new methods to be more efficient in the operations and in controlling the costs of distribution, transportation and customer service while providing superior service to internal and external clients.
- Initiate or participate in multidisciplinary projects with an impact on its sector.
- Plan financial and human resources effectively to achieve objectives.
- Participate in departmental meetings as well as projects that require the incumbent's expertise
- Act as a resource person for regulatory and financial audits
- Perform all other tasks related to the field of activity as needed
Health & safety :
- Participate in the health and safety committee and related activities.
- Identify needs, issue action plans to maintain a safe environment, promote health and safety in the workplace, enforce company and CNESST regulations and suggest improvement measures.
- Follow up on correctives measures and assesses the results obtained.
Specific tasks related to employee management :
- Hire staff, manage and evaluate their performance
- Develop the team’s potential and versatility.
- Identify training needs and develop training plans with resource persons for the team and plan financial requirements to support training.
- Involve and coach direct reports in problem solving to maintain good working relationships and motivate them to go the extra mile in achieving results by promoting continuous improvement.
- Regularly communicate the operational results of the distribution center.
- Plan and anticipate staffing needs to support company growth
- Encourage teamwork, team spirit and collaboration between the different sectors of distribution and the other departments

Expérience
6 to 8 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
