SALARY: FROM $46,527 TO $92,027 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

To enable the students to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for managing a small warehouse; performing maintenance of tools, electrical equipment, plumbing and heating systems; working on internal and external building components.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or vocational training in a building specialty related to the employment category or have a diploma or certificate of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authorities and have at least four years of relevant experience (e. g. electrician or plumber).

 

The School Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, painting, mechanics and plumbing to be able to carry out maintenance and repairs.
• Experience with heating and ventilation systems and their setting would be an asset.
• Working knowledge of at least two of the school board's three languages (Inuktitut, French, English).

 

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $46,527 to $92,027 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
