We are currently seeking an Electromechanic for our plant located in Lachine.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair components and systems such as motors, drives, bearings, gears, clutches, couplings, etc.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Identify problems and determine the root causes of equipment malfunctions.
Perform basic welding and machining tasks.
Participate in all site safety programs and support all company policies and procedures.
Utilize supplier support to learn best practices. Equipment cleaning and maintenance.
Complete maintenance records and maintain logbooks and databases as required.
Control plant tools, manuals, spare parts, assemblies, and consumables.
Research equipment manuals and request replacement parts. Identify and assist in sourcing and purchasing parts.
Maintain an inventory of spare parts and consumable parts for equipment.
Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, using fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks.
Qualifications:
Previous involvement in a similar role and/or industry with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry.
The title of Millwright or Electrician.
General knowledge and understanding of the operation of:
Overhead Cranes
Forklifts
Dust Collectors
Units Purification
Pumps
Hydraulic Lifting Equipment
Kilns, Boilers, and Heat Exchangers
Chemical Pretreatment Processes
Programmable Logic Controllers and Safety Relays
Knowledge of Electricity and Mechanics:
Mastery of the operating principles of electric motors, programmable logic controllers, transformers, electrical circuits, and mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Ability to Diagnose and Solve Problems:
Identify the cause of breakdowns (trouble shooting), use diagnostic tools, and implement appropriate solutions quickly to reduce downtime.
Ability to Use Tools and Equipment:
Proficiency with tools basic machining tools, welding tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting equipment.
Observation and analytical skills:
Identify anomalies, analyze data, and make informed decisions.
Precision and thoroughness:
Perform tasks with precision and thoroughness, respecting safety standards and procedures.
Welding experience
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment.

Ability to read technical drawings.

Languages: French and English: spoken and written
Education:
Minimum high school diploma combined with equivalent professional experience and training, including licenses/certificates in one or more related business disciplines.
Availability:
The candidate must be able to respond to emergency maintenance requests (outside of business hours and weekends, if applicable)
Be available some weekends for emergency calls and scheduled maintenance work outside of production hours.
