Step into the heart of the action and make a real difference by serving our diverse community of customers at Food Basics! As a Front-End Clerk, you will be the face of our brand, sharing your enthusiasm for food and exceptional service with everyone who walks through our doors.
Our front-end team is essential to the success of Food Basics, and we are looking for individuals who enjoy meeting new people and helping others. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are passionate about making a positive impact, we want you on our team!
Tasks Include
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
- Address customer inquiries and assist with locating products.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
Checkout Process:
- Scan items quickly and accurately.
- Process various forms of payment (cash, credit/debt cards, gift cards).
- Process returned items.
- Provide receipts and any necessary change.
- Offer assistance with loyalty programs or coupons.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer.
Cash Management:
- Perform cash drops and prepare cash deposits as required.
- Balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
Cleanliness and Safety:
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
- Follow store policies and procedures to ensure safety and security.
- Report any spills, hazards, or equipment issues to management.
Collaboration:
- Work with other team members to ensure store operations run smoothly.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.
- Assist team members with put aways/returns.
Qualifications:
- Customer service driven.
- Strong communication skills.
- Retail experience is considered an asset.
- High attention to detail and basic level of numeracy skills.
- Basics computer and register skills is an asset.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
