Road Service Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Road Service Mechanic to perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty material handling equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and other machines powered by electricity, propane, or diesel, in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

This position reports to the Road Service Manager or a designee.

Main Duties:

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment.

• Inspect and test equipment systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, to identify faults.

• Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts using tools and appropriate diagnostic equipment.

• Overhaul lifting mechanisms and other mechanical assemblies, as needed.

• Conduct annual safety and lifting device inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.

• Maintain and repair industrial batteries, including testing and recharging.

• Read and interpret work orders, service manuals, and technical specifications.

• Advise customers on work performed, necessary repairs, and the overall condition of equipment.

• Accurately complete maintenance reports, service logs, and any other required documentation.

• Maintain a clean work environment and safe, compliant with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Travel to customer locations using a fully equipped service vehicle to ensure fast and efficient service.

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree in Commercial Vehicle Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Mechanics.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical repair of commercial vehicles.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Solid electrical knowledge and proven mechanical skills.
